Assistant Principal Joshua Myers Arrested on Child Porn Charges

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - An assistant principal at Greenville Elementary School in Virginia is being charged with possessing and distributing child poography.

Police arrested 29-year-old Joshua Myers on Wednesday following a search of his home in Warrenton, Va.

According to court documents, Myers was identified in an undercover federal investigation of individuals sharing software to view and trade child poography.

While chatting online with an undercover agent, the assistant principal bragged about traveling to Califoia to have sex with a child. He also mentioned previously engaging in sexual acts with children of ages ranging from nine to 14.

Myers also allegedly gave the agent access to folders on his computer containing child po. Using the password provided, the undercover officer viewed several sexually explicit videos and images.

Among these included a video of a woman sexually abusing a two-year-old boy.

According to court documents, Myers admitted to communicating with the undercover agent. He also confessed to having child poography stored on his thumb drive and on his work-issued laptop at school.

The assistant principal has been teaching in the Fauquier County school system since 2004. Following the announcement of the charges, Myers was suspended without pay.

He will make his initial court appearance on Thursday.
