A suspected robber’s arm was to clean off when his victim chased him in his car and rammed him into a fence, according to reports.

The 17-year-old suspect allegedly held up a 39-year-old man at gunpoint for a pair of trainers in Brooklyn, New York, after arranging to buy the shoes via a smartphone app.

The man slammed his foot on the accelerator when the teenager pulled the gun, and the 17-year-old jumped from the car. But the man apparently tued the vehicle around and rammed the teenager into a fence, severing one of his arms.

The teenager has been taken to hospital where he is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

The driver has not been arrested, reports say.
