3 Charged With Raping Baldwin Girl, 16

PITTSBURGH -- One man and two juveniles are accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in Baldwin in September.

Jamal Tompkins, 21, is accused of raping the Baldwin girl with two other juveniles.

According to police, the incident happened at a vacant apartment in the Leland Point complex following a Baldwin High School football game.

The two juveniles, whose names haven’t been released, have been arrested. Police continue to search for Tompkins.

All three are charged with involuntary deviant sexually intercourse and corruption of minors.

Neighbor Darlene Spano said she wasn't surprised by the rape allegations.

“No, it doesn't bother me as long as they leave me alone, you know,” said Spano. “It doesn't affect me.”

For Constable Jon Held, getting Tompkins off the street and into a courtroom is a high priority.

“What I am afraid of is if he's done this, if he's guilty of this, that he will do it again and that presents a real danger to society,” said Held.
