16 dead in Texas after hot air balloon crashes

Texas authorities say a hot air balloon carrying 16 people caught fire and crashed in Texas, killing everyone on board.

The large balloon came down at around 7:40am local time in a pasture near Lockhart, Texas, after it caught fire in the basket portion of the the hot air balloon according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Local reports suggest that there are no survivors, though "investigators are determining the number and the identities of victims at this time," the Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
