YouTube ‘blue drug fairy’ Sharissa Turk found dead in apparent overdose
A WOMAN who played a blue “drug” fairy in a music video that went viral after being arrested on drug charges has been found dead in an apparent overdose.
Sharissa Turk, 25, who was part of a massive narcotics bust in 2013, was discovered unconscious and unresponsive in her Staten Island, New York home about 3pm Tuesday (7am Wednesday AEDT), according to police.
The New York Post reports Turk’s death was likely due to an overdose. The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause of death.
In the music video posted online, Turk wears fairy wings and blows crushed powder into the camera as a goofball group performs a rap song about painkiller use.
The song, My World Is So Blue, is a reference to the oxycodone epidemic that has deeply affected Staten Island in New York.
Turk was busted in 2013 along with 32 other people after she sold oxycodone to an undercover cop on three separate occasions.
Turk pleaded guilty after the bust and was asked to complete a drug treatment program.
