Sarina Frauenfelder, 15, in the outfit she wore on her flight, Sunday, June 16 that allegedly moved a TSA agent to make disparaging remarks about her choice of clothing.

A LOS ANGELES Airport security officer "shamed and humiliated" a teenage girl for wearing a low-cut top.

Fifteen-year-old Sarina was travelling with a school group when she was allegedly criticised by the officer for revealing too much and ordered to cover up.

Sarina's father, Mark Frauenfelder, founder of the blog Boing Boing, described the incident in a post:

"(Sarina) said the officer was 'glaring' at her and mumbling. She said, 'Excuse me?' and he said, 'You're only 15, cover yourself!' in a hostile tone."

Frauenfelder said the airport officer's reaction was unacceptable.

"It doesn't matter what she was wearing ... because it's none of his business to tell girls what they should or should not wear. His creepy thoughts are his own problem, and he shouldn't use his position of authority as an excuse to humiliate a girl and blame her for his sick attitude."

He said his daughter was shaken by the officer's "abusive manner".

He later told NBC News: "It's the TSA's job to ensure the safety of passengers. It is not to judge teenage girls on the kind of clothes they're wearing."

Sarina has reportedly demanded an apology. "If a guy was wearing that they wouldn't be in trouble," she told NBC News. "I don't think men should treat women like that."

The TSA said they were investigating the incident.
