SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) - "I don't think there was anybody out there that met him that didn't like him," said Scott Wanagat.

He calls his brother-in-law, 24-year-old Salvatore Talluto, the brother he never had.

Talluto was riding in a party bus from Metro Coach early Sunday moing when investigators say he stuck his head out of the eleven-and-a-half foot bus.  The bus on I-94 and Van Dyke approached an overpass bridge.  More than two dozen others were in the bus at the time.  His family is still putting together what happened next.

"Somehow or another, he went through the top of the escape or the fire exit and struck the overpass, and that did most of the damage," Wanagat said.

Damage that his loved ones monitored after he was taken to the hospital.  He wasn't killed right away.

"His family has decided that they wanted to donate his organs for transplant for people that are in need.  I think that's the one silver lining from this whole event that will make it a little more easy to bear," Wanagat told FOX 2.

Roop Raj spoke with an official at Metro Coach.  He said the driver of the bus was cleared of any wrongdoing and that the top emergency hatch should've never been opened.  The driver is now going through grief counseling herself.

Meanwhile, Wanagat said he will miss his brother-in-law dearly and will tell his son the following about his godfather: "He was a great, fun-loving guy, and he loved him very much.  He always took time to play with him and to do things with him, teach him and just have fun."

Talluto was a bar manager at Utica's City Pub.  He also did construction jobs.
