‘Pregnant’ woman stabbed to death and her baby ‘surgically removed’ in brutal attack

A pregnant woman was stabbed to death, and her baby surgically removed.

The victim, who was 22 years old, was found with multiple stab wounds to her torso in the Bronx area of New York City.

Police have arrested another woman, who they found clutching a newbo baby.

She told the emergency services that it was hers, and that she had given birth during the dispute.

The baby was not hurt and has now been taken to a hospital in the Bronx to be cared for.

New York City councilman Andy King said they investigators were still trying to work out what had happened and who the mother of the child was.

He added that it appeared to be a case of baby-snatching.

‘It appears the foetus of this 22-year-old woman was surgically removed by the alleged perpetrator, who is in custody right now,’ King said.

‘When the cops arrived, the perpetrator tried to claim that it was her child that was there, saying that she gave birth at the time of the struggle.'
