Perverted dad Jeremy Schwer who admitted to molesting his cancer suffering daughter walks free

Jeremy Schwer, 41, told his daughter to sit on his “cat tail” shortly after she had been diagnosed with cancer at the age of four when doctors found a brain tumour.

The court heard how the girl told her mother she had touched her father’s genitalia.

The girl, who underwent a year of chemotherapy, then revealed the sick father made her not tell her mother about his despicable crimes otherwise he would go to jail.

But she eventually told her mother that he molested her every night.

But Schwer’s estranged wife begged Marion Superior Court, in Indianapolis, for the 41-year-old to be spared prison because she hoped he would help financially support their children.

Schwer was sentenced to 12 years of probation by Magistrate Steven Rubick at the court.

He was also placed on the sex offender register.

Deputy prosecutor Courtney Curtis said she “completely” disagreed with the sentencing of Schwer but understood Mr Rubick’s sympathies with the victim’s mother.

She argued that Schwer should serve nine years behind bars followed by three years on probation.

Schwer has been living in the family home since the sentencing and has not paid anything to support his children, according to Ms Curtis.

She added: “This is the most horrific circumstance of a chid molest case that I’ve ever seen.”

His lawyer John Campbell said Schwer was sacked within days of his arrest last year and did not get another job until two weeks ago.

Mr Campbell said Schwer "absolutely" plans to provide financially for the family and promised to devote his life to supporting them.
