Pennsylvania State Police say that the officer killed Saturday night in Westmoreland County has been identified as Lloyd Reed, a member of the St. Clair Township Police Department.

The Cambria County Coroner's Office had earlier confirmed to the media that the officer had died.

According to The Associated Press, the suspect, Ray Shetler, Jr., 31, was arrested Sunday at approximately 3 a.m. after a manhunt spanning several hours.

Emergency dispatchers confirmed to local reporters that a police officer was shot after responding to a domestic incident and was transported to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m.

A suspect was spotted running away from the scene, and state police were called to the area.

State and local police had received a report earlier in the night of a fight at the house. A woman was allegedly assaulted during the fight, according to the Trib.
