A MAN has survived a fiery crash after a small aircraft slammed into a Chicago carpark. One person was reportedly since died.

The single-engined aircraft was destroyed after it struck the ground alongside a bank in Chicago's Bolingbrook suburb, across a road from the Clow Airport.

A witness described the plane "slowly came down and wobbled, then clipped a building and went down completely."

Emergency authorities say the pilot and his wife have been taken to hospital suffering bu injuries.
