Cobb County woman Gretchen Fortney accused of strangling mother to death

Cobb County police say a woman is facing jail time in connection to her 78-year-old mother's death.
According to the incident report, Martha Fortney was found by her husband with a belt from her robe tied around her neck. The husband told investigators he found their daughter there with her.
Investigators say the woman's husband called 911. When the police arrived at the scene, they arrested 52-year-old Gretchen Fortney and charged her with murder and aggravated assault-strangulation.
She is being held at the Cobb County Jail without bond.
